asked questions we've gathered from clients over the
years.
Why use H&P Builders?
Long-lasting buildings - There are details
in our construction that you may never see, except
during the construction phase, but which you will
appreciate over the years, as your neighbors repair
problems while you quietly enjoy your new home or
addition. We actually insist on quality- not just
appearance.
Service - We work with you to reach your goals.
Knowledge -The broad range of projects we
have built in the Charlottesville area qualifies us
for many different types of projects.
Custom Work - We are willing and able to take
on projects that are unique.
Where do we start?
You probably already have a pretty good idea of what
you need from a builder - a new home, an addition
to an existing home, renovation or restoration for
an older house, another structure, repair work, commercial
construction. If you are still in the brainstorming
phase, it can help to articulate a central goal -
we need more space, nicer space, repair to existing
space, a new kitchen and family room, etc.
Do you do design work?
Typically, H&P Builders work in partnership with
an architect. Sometimes the architect is only involved
in the preliminary design work, giving both client
and contractor a firm idea of what your home or business
is going to look like, and what the general plan is
going to be. Sometimes the architect is a central
partner in your project every step along the way.
What if we do not have drawings?
We are happy to provide you with a list of architects
who have done great work for our clients.
What if we already have an architect?
We are happy to expand our network of architects
and look forward to creating new professional relationships.
What type of contract do you work
under?
We work on both a "Fixed Price" and "Time
& Materials" basis. We will prepare a detailed
estimate based on our own and subcontractors' estimated
costs for the labor and materials for your project
Who else do we need to hire?
H&P Builders is a full-service general contractor,
and we can coordinate and supervise all phases and
aspects of the building process. We provide all the
carpentry and general contracting for your project.
We coordinate and oversee quality subcontractors to
take on things like excavation, masonry, plumbing,
electric, painting, etc.
Do you have houses for sale?
Occasionally H&P Builders will renovate houses
in the Charlottesville area. There projects are a
lot of fun, and when we have homes for sale, they
are in our "For Sale"
section.
